I did a get an apology for the over-sight from their manager about twenty years too late, but he really only wanted to get a CD of the other material I mixed from that night. Third, although I think I charged about $4K for the remote truck, tape stock and my services it wasn't a big money making gig.įourth, they released my mixes without compensation or credit. I have mixed thousands of bands and although they were getting quite famous at the time, they played horribly live. Second, it was not an enjoyable musical experience to mix them at all and I LIKE good rock bands A LOT! It isn't name dropping because first of all, it was just a gig. I just thought that the JC-120 mention was interesting because it was used on their tours, but out of sight. Spot on on the reverb, maybe not so high that it's more than the direct sound. That should get you in the ballpark.Doesn't seem a 12 string too me.Īre you sure that the intro is not double tracked? (to your ears, of course, we are all speculating here!) I can definitely hear different pick attacks left and right. could be 12 string the whole way through, but i'm really not hearing those upper octaves in the intro. Oh yeah, when the verse chords actually start, it switches from 6 string to 12 string. probably slightly more reverb than direct sound on this one. reverb time between 1 to 2 seconds, with an LPF on it to keep it dark.īring the reverb level up much higher than what sounds 'natural'. The reverb is a medium or large hall or plate, with a generous predelay, something around 30ms or so. there's a good amount of pick attack, so i'd say one mic near the bridge, the other one where the neck meets the body of the guitar. To my ears, it sounds like one all wood dreadnaught guitar, not ovation.
